05 March 2021 – Udder cream 2

5th Mar 202117th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

BUY IT!! It’s a weird moisturiser, it leaves no residue, you don’t even feel like you have applied anything after 30 seconds. I have bathed my feet in it all this week and the blister has almost dissolved as well as where the burns broke the skin. I am now using it on my face … Continue reading 05 March 2021 – Udder cream 2

27 February 2021 – Udder cream

27th Feb 202117th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

Today I woke refreshed, and had the joys of spring, it was a sunny weekend, I have no more Oxalyplatin and I felt a little bounce in my step.  I needed some food and thought why drive – it’s only about 1.5 miles (3 mile return) to the shop – DICK! Honestly, when do I … Continue reading 27 February 2021 – Udder cream

26 February 2021 – Rants, Rage and Elation

26th Feb 202117th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

Ok – this probably isn’t the right time to post, but I just wanted to note that I’m in a real piss today. My feet are now impacted and I’m feeling slightly unsteady, I’m bruising everywhere, my bloody fingers are peeling and I just struggled with the washing again due to pain in my fingers. … Continue reading 26 February 2021 – Rants, Rage and Elation

24 February 2021 – Naproxen

24th Feb 202114th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

Doctors called today, the GP Surgery had reviewed my files and had noticed that Oxalyplatin and Naproxen (a drug I had been prescribed to somehow help with some of the neuropathy and joint pain) can cause an irritation in the liver. I have been advised to take it sparingly – I rarely take it anyway, … Continue reading 24 February 2021 – Naproxen

22 February 2021 – Covid & Psychotherapy

22nd Feb 202114th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

Boris made his announcement today, the easing of lockdown. I’m not sure why but I felt miserable – probably just the chemo –  because it’s still going to be ages  until I can see my friends at their houses/ or mine. I have busy times ahead, but I just know that some of the things … Continue reading 22 February 2021 – Covid & Psychotherapy

19 February 2021 – Chemo, ROUND 7

19th Feb 202117th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

As usual, my parents came up the night before and I told them about Sophie’s Choice. They agreed with my decision or at least supported me, I know they realise how gruelling this is for me and that they’d so anything to take the pain away. The last chemo in the cosy love shack of … Continue reading 19 February 2021 – Chemo, ROUND 7

17 February 2021 – Sophie’s Choice

17th Feb 202113th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

So my oncology nurse called me,  as they always do a few days before chemo is due. As always, they were super approachable and lovely. We talked about my fatigue and that I was struggling with normal life, and that my hands during the last chemo session suffered neuropathy, but I wasn’t sure if that … Continue reading 17 February 2021 – Sophie’s Choice

02 February 2021 – Covid jab

2nd Feb 202113th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

My GP rang to check in on me and I asked why I wasn’t on the list for extremely vulnerable for the Covid jab. I got a call back that afternoon asking me if I was available for my vaccine on Sunday – god bless the NHS!

29 January 2021 – Chemo, ROUND 6

29th Jan 202117th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

My bloods the day before came back the same, but Oncology emailed me that morning and said chemo was on and I would stay on the 75% concentration. My parents came up this week, irrespective of the outcome of the chemo appointment because of my meltdown.  I could see that my Mum really just wanted … Continue reading 29 January 2021 – Chemo, ROUND 6

25 January 2021 – Blood test

25th Jan 202117th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

I went for my usual pre-chemo blood test and Zoladex today. I enquired about my Covid jab as I should be seen as the extremely vulnerable – apparently I wasn’t on the list as someone who was seen in a high category – I was informed to call the surgery in a few weeks as … Continue reading 25 January 2021 – Blood test

08 January 2021 – Chemo, ROUND 5

8th Jan 202117th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

Have you ever seen the film the Green Mile? It’s one of all-time favourites. When the inmates walk to the electric chair on death row and Percy Wetmore (a prison guard) shouts ‘dead man walking, there’s a dead man walking here’  - that scene was playing in my head as I walked on to the … Continue reading 08 January 2021 – Chemo, ROUND 5

07 January 2020 – pre-chemo call

7th Jan 202117th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

The day before chemo you always get a call from the Oncology Nurse. Most of the time you just discuss how you were feeling and what the symptoms were. You also get to discuss what drugs you need like Loperamide (anti diarrhoea), Lorezepam (to take the edge off my anxiety pre-chemo) and Oramorph. I usually … Continue reading 07 January 2020 – pre-chemo call

29 December 2020, pre-chemo blood test

29th Dec 202013th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

A phone call today from my oncology nurse told me my immune system was shot and therefore chemo (booked for New Years Eve) was to be postponed a week to allow my body to recover. Unfortunately, this news came just as my parents came through the door from Devon to take me to my appointment … Continue reading 29 December 2020, pre-chemo blood test

27 December 2020 – Pupdate 2

27th Dec 202013th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

I had a text from the breeder today, the mummy dog went to meet her new boyfriend and had a marvellous day (wink wink), so I was soon to find out if this would lead to pups EEEEEKKK. I think the litter will be mixed, golden, black or chocolate labs. How do you even choose? … Continue reading 27 December 2020 – Pupdate 2

21 December 2020 – Xmas

21st Dec 202013th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

I was really looking forward to Christmas because back in February we thought my Dad wouldn’t make it, so I was excited to be  escaping to Devon, having the odd socially distanced walk with my friends, seeing the seaside and having a good giggle with my family. I had taken a good two weeks off … Continue reading 21 December 2020 – Xmas

10 December 2020 – Chemo, ROUND 4

10th Dec 202017th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

I went into this round of chemo a little cocky, the last one was a breeze and I had a clear idea of what my symptoms were; even if the severity was mixed most of the symptoms remained relatively consistent. For some reason this time they went straight back into the large vein on the … Continue reading 10 December 2020 – Chemo, ROUND 4

19 November 2020 – Chemo, ROUND 3

19th Nov 202017th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

My mum had prepared for this round mentally; she had done her own research and found out that Chemo Round 3 is one of the worst. I remained blissfully ignorant of this fact, and had in fact made a mental timetable of symptoms for the week to get me through to diarrhoea and euphoria stage … Continue reading 19 November 2020 – Chemo, ROUND 3

29 October 2020 – Chemo, ROUND 2

29th Oct 202017th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

The Oncology nurse calls you the day before chemo to find out how you got on with the cycle. Being honest, I was deeply frightened of Round 2. Round 1 had knocked my confidence massively and I knew it was going to be a miserable and painful experience.  The chemo nurse and I talked about my … Continue reading 29 October 2020 – Chemo, ROUND 2

27 October 2020 – Pupdate

27th Oct 202011th Mar 2021 / bryony82 / Leave a comment

My mum sent me the details of a local breeders and I text them to enquire if they were planning more puppies soon. The breeder said they were looking to take their female to stud in December, meaning pups in Feb and re-homing in April.  Is this fate? The timing ties in perfectly for the … Continue reading 27 October 2020 – Pupdate
